Halloween Party Catering in Medellín
Medellin Elite Catering caters Halloween parties in Medellín for children in costume and for adults who take the night seriously. We bring themed finger food, candy stations, dessert tables and cocktail bars to homes, residential buildings and offices.
Our Halloween clients are parents organizing a costume party for a class or a building, expat hosts throwing an adult night, and companies running a costume contest on 31 October.
Years of Halloweens in the city have taught us that it runs on a Colombian schedule. Children are out early in the afternoon, and adults party on the nearest Friday or Saturday, so we plan menus and delivery times around both.

Our Halloween Party Catering
We cater three kinds of Halloween event: kids' parties, adult costume nights and office celebrations. Each gets its own menu, but one rule applies to all of them: the food should look the part and still taste like real food.
Kids' parties usually last 2 to 3 hours in a salón social or a family home, with 15 to 40 children and their parents. Parents who know our kids' birthday party catering will recognize the format, with a costume theme on top. Staffed parties start at 15 guests and include servers, tableware, setup and cleanup.
Adult nights are bigger and later, often on a rooftop, in a house in Laureles or on a finca terrace, with passed canapés and a cocktail bar. Office parties fall in between, usually in the afternoon of 31 October itself.
Halloween in Colombia: A Children's Day
In Colombia, 31 October is treated as a day for children, and many people call it Día de los Niños. Kids in costume go door to door in residential buildings, through shopping malls and along shop-lined streets, singing the triqui triqui Halloween rhyme and asking for sweets.
Residential buildings managed under Colombia's horizontal property law (Ley 675 of 2001) often organize the route themselves, with participating apartments handing out candy from about 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. That timing shapes kids' parties: most start at 2:00 or 3:00 p.m. so children eat before the candy walk, or right after it, at around 7:00 p.m., with a light dinner.
Adult parties move to the Friday or Saturday closest to 31 October. The police code (Ley 1801 of 2019) still limits loud music in residential buildings late at night, so for apartment parties we plan the louder part of the evening early and serve the late snacks quietly.
Kids' Halloween Menus
Kids' Halloween food works when it is fun to look at and easy to hold, and three items appear at almost every party: mummy hot dogs, pumpkin cupcakes and candy bags. Around them we build a menu that parents are happy to see their children eat.
Mummy hot dogs are sausages wrapped in strips of puff pastry with two dots of mustard for eyes, baked until golden. Pumpkin cupcakes use real ahuyama, the local squash, with orange cream cheese frosting, and ghost meringues and spider brownies complete the sweet table.
For balance, we add mini arepas with cheese, chicken croquettes and fruit cups with mandarins drawn as little pumpkins. Every tray carries an allergen label, and nut-free or egg-free versions follow the same rules as our allergy-friendly catering, with separate prep and clearly marked plates.
Adult Halloween Party Menus
Adult Halloween menus lean on dark colors and a bit of theatre, with themed canapés, black burger sliders and a cocktail bar. We plan 10 to 12 canapés per guest for a three-hour party.

If the party runs past midnight, a late tray of empanadas around 11:00 p.m. keeps the room going. The bar mixes themed cocktails with local flavors, such as a blood orange and aguardiente sour or a lulo and tequila punch, and pours only spirits with the Antioquia tax stamp.
For the smoky effect, we use dry ice in display bowls only, never in a drink. One bartender covers 50 to 75 guests.
Office Halloween Parties
Office Halloween parties are usually an afternoon costume contest on 31 October, with snack boxes or a treat table instead of a full meal. They take about an hour, so the food needs to be ready the moment the judging ends.
Each snack box holds a themed sandwich, a pumpkin cupcake, candy and a drink, delivered to your office with 48 hours' notice. Offices in the western neighborhoods are covered by our catering in Laureles, with deliveries landing 15 to 30 minutes after leaving the kitchen.
Larger companies often invite employees' children for the afternoon and add a treat table with candy bags for them. For a contest with a proper lunch beforehand, our corporate event catering team plans the full afternoon.

Do you prepare candy bags for building trick-or-treating?
Yes, we pack candy bags for building trick-or-treating in orders of 50 bags or more. Each bag holds 8 to 10 pieces of wrapped candy, a small chocolate and a themed cookie, tied and labeled for allergens. A building expecting 100 children usually orders 110 bags to cover late arrivals and siblings.
How early should I book for 31 October?
Book 3 to 4 weeks ahead, because 31 October and the weekend around it are among our busiest dates outside December. Staffed parties need at least 2 weeks' notice, while drop-off trays and candy bags can sometimes be ordered later if we still have capacity. Candy stock in the city runs low in the last week of October, so earlier is safer.
