Valentine's Day Catering in Medellín
Medellin Elite Catering creates Valentine's Day dinners in Medellín for couples who want something more personal than a crowded restaurant. Our private chef dinners, romantic picnics and couples' parties come to your apartment, a rented villa or a finca garden.
We cook for expats and visiting couples celebrating on 14 February, and for Colombians marking the Día del Amor y la Amistad in September. Quite a few clients book us for both.
Since 2019 we have set up anniversary dinners, proposals and small parties for couples, with bilingual coordinators handling the details by email or video call. Many plans are settled before the couple even lands in Colombia.

Our Valentine's Day Catering
We offer three Valentine's formats: a private dinner for two with a cook and a server, a romantic picnic basket, and a couples' party for 6 to 30 guests. Each one is planned around the setting you have, whether that is a balcony, a garden or a finca with a view.
Most of our Valentine's dinners take place in apartments in El Poblado and Laureles, villas in Envigado and fincas in Llanogrande, where a terrace and a quiet garden do half the work. Couples staying in the Provenza or Manila areas will find delivery details on our page about catering in El Poblado.
Couples' parties, such as a Galentine's brunch or a dinner for several couples, follow the format of our dinner party catering, with shared plates or a plated menu and a server for every 10 to 12 guests.
February 14 and Colombia's Love and Friendship Day
Colombia does not traditionally celebrate love on 14 February: its version is the Día del Amor y la Amistad, held on the third Saturday of September. It honors friends as well as partners, so it is as much about office parties and dinners with friends as about romance.
In the weeks before Amor y Amistad, offices play amigo secreto, a secret-friend game in which coworkers leave each other small sweets before revealing themselves with a final gift. Expats and visitors keep 14 February, and plenty of local couples now celebrate both dates.

Private Dinner for Two
A private dinner for two brings a cook and a server to your home for a four-course menu served at your own table. The cook arrives about 2 hours early to prepare in your kitchen, the dinner lasts around 3 hours, and the kitchen is left clean.
A typical menu opens with a corvina ceviche with green mango and lime, moves to burrata with roasted tree tomato (tomate de árbol) and basil, then beef tenderloin with chimichurri or pan-seared trout with passion fruit butter. Dessert is a warm dark chocolate fondant made with Colombian cacao and a lulo sorbet.
For a proposal, we agree the timing with you in advance: the ring can arrive under a cloche with dessert, and the server steps away once the question is asked. When 14 February falls on a Sunday, dinners run as normal, but our office is closed that day, so every detail is confirmed by Saturday.
Romantic Picnics
A romantic picnic is a packed basket for two, ready to carry to a viewpoint, a park or your own garden. It suits couples who would rather watch the sunset over the valley than sit at a table.
Each basket holds a cheese and charcuterie board, a baguette, a quinoa and roasted vegetable salad, fruit such as mangosteen, granadilla and strawberries, chocolate truffles and a bottle of sparkling wine or fresh juice. We include cutlery, cloth napkins and a wool blanket, and cold items stay below 5 °C until you collect or receive them.
Popular spots include Parque Arví above Santa Elena, the green hills around Llanogrande and private finca gardens; public parks may have their own rules on glass and alcohol, so check before you go. Our picnic catering page covers larger groups and family picnics.
Valentine's Packages and Booking
Each Valentine's package is quoted for the couple or the group, and the table shows what comes with each one. Flowers, candles and decor come from our partner florists and appear as separate lines on the quote.

If you prefer to bring your own wine, our server opens and pours it at the table. Fincas in Llanogrande or Rionegro sit 1 to 2.5 hours from our kitchen, so dinners there are planned as staffed events by quote.
Valentine's dinners should be booked 3 to 4 weeks ahead, with final orders closing 7 days before 14 February. A deposit holds the date, and couples abroad can pay through a card payment link.

Flowers, candles, rose petals and table decor come from our partner florists and setup suppliers, itemized on your quote, and we agree a quiet signal with you so the server steps away at the right time. If you hire a photographer, we coordinate their arrival and hiding spot as well.
Do you cater Amor y Amistad office parties?
Yes, we cater Amor y Amistad parties for offices every September, from snack boxes for the amigo secreto reveal to after-work cocktail parties. These follow the same planning as our corporate event catering, with staffed events booked 2 weeks ahead and drop-off orders 48 hours ahead.
